Where it starts.
This is the first entry. There isn't much to see yet, and we want you to see that too.
The site is 63.5 acres of prairie on the south shore of Eagle Lake, in Wheatland County. A county road runs along the south edge and the lake lies to the north. Nothing is built. Nothing is approved.
The first work is paperwork. We're ordering a current title for the parcel, reading every instrument registered against it, and commissioning a legal survey. Then comes a pre-application meeting with Wheatland County, where we find out how the area's rules apply to this land: how lots are counted, where the shoreline park falls, and what a first phase can look like. Those answers set the numbers you'll eventually see on this site.
From October, we'll photograph the site from the same three points every month: the planned entrance, the shoreline and the future Commons. Over time those frames become the record of the build.
We'll post here every month, including the months when the news is that nothing moved.
